THE J12 FAMILY ENCOUNTER WEEKEND

What if everyone lived the words Jesus spoke at 12 years of age? What if everyone cried out like Jesus at 12, "I must be about My Father's business?" What if shepherds (parents and leaders) could remember and rest in who they are? What if we reached our children before they needed rescuing? We believe it would change the world. We believe it would look like the family business of a good Father. The J12 Family Encounter Weekend is an event for the whole church family where we come to your local church and impart the message of Jesus at 12 into families so that they may walk with a zeal to be about their Father's business.

GODWORDART Pre-Vlog

I am speaking to the parents here. The example we set as parents will be followed by our kids. My desire has always been to have fun with the Word of God and now I'm inviting my kids into the journey with me. I encourage you to do the same with your kids. Make it a family affair. All of God's kids must be about the Father's business.

DOES HIS WORD BURN WITHIN YOU?

If God's Word burns within you and even if it doesn't right now, we believe one of the best ways to stoke the embers of the black and white Word into flames in your heart is by bringing out the color that is truly found inside.

GENERATION TO GENERATION

GENERATION TO GENERATION

Susan Paskey had a tremendous experience with Grow For It when she was young. Grow For It, as we said in our newsletter last week, was the first rendition of The BBC Manual (Bedroom Bible College). Today, she and her husband Ryan, who is also the Executive Pastor at New Brighton Christian Assembly in New Brighton, Pennsylvania, are now taking their children through J12 and Bedroom Bible College today. It is amazing to see how the same tried and true message of spending time with God in His Word will impact generation to generation.

Bedroom Bible College was so effective that we thought we needed to go even younger. So we developed BBC for Tweens, a workbook introducing 8-12 year olds to reading and rewriting and memorizing and meditating on scripture. BBC for Tweens can be used on a personal level or can be used as a 13 week scope and sequence resource when partnered with the Leader Guide. Feel free to check out both books through the links below.

GROW FOR IT

Daren Duncan is the Youth Director of New Brighton Christian Assembly. When he was young he went through the first rendition of The Bedroom Bible College Manual which was called Grow For It. Take a quick second to watch his testimony about how it impacted him and what he is doing with it now. The BBC Manual can be purchased in our online store which you can access through the link below.

PRETEEN TnT

TnT stands for Tests and Testimony. The best way to see the "I Must" Spirit at work is to simply listen to the joy of a preteen giving testimony of what it means to them, in their own language, and from their own heart. This preteen is very excited to seek the Lord, on his own, in his new journal, because he, being a preteen, is ready to raise it up a level for the business plan God has for him. Take just one minute to watch his quick testimony.

TRAIN UP

"Train up a child in the way he should go,

And when he is old he will not depart from it."

Proverbs 22:6 (NKJV)

We all have heard this verse many times. If we have been in the church long enough we have probably grown dull of hearing what this verse is truly saying. Pay careful attention to the first word of this verse. The word is "train." How many of you, like myself, often hear this verse as "teach?" There is a difference between "training" and "teaching." Unfortunately, I believe much of this can be seen in the lives of my millennial generation. My generation has been in "teaching" overload. "Training" is something that seems to have eluded my generation as many now need on the job training. How we got here is of less consequence than finding a solution to the problem. The solution is to recover the art of "training."

Here is what I am getting at, and I say this with as much humility and brokenness as I can, if we are simply "teaching" and not "training," we are going to have generation after generation who have simply "read the book;" let's focus on our book - the Bible. They will be growing into their adult life to face principalities, powers, the rulers of the darkness of this age, spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places, having only "read the book," with no clue how to truly fight the good fight of faith. If we are not "training" the next generation, they will faint, save God's mercy and grace, which is always abundant.

To minister to the next generation is perhaps the greatest calling of all, for you are training the next soldiers of the Kingdom of God to bring heaven to earth. Be encouraged in knowing that the angels of children are always seeing the face of the Father (Matthew 18:10 NKJV), so you truly are not alone in this battle.

“The Lord is with you, you mighty man of valor!”

Judges 6:12 (NKJV)
