12 Minutes a Day! ...Why?

To be honest, there’s no special power in the number 12, or in any other number for that matter. Yet, some numbers in the Bible hold more significance than others. 12 is the number of tribes there were in Israel. 12 is the number of men Jesus chose to be His apostles. 12 is the number of foundation stones that surrounded Jerusalem and 12 is the number of gates that kept the city safe. The number 12 actually stands for the “government of God.” In the book of Revelation, 12 is the number of fruits on the Tree of Life. Hey, have you ever heard of the 12 days of Christmas? Okay, that’s taking it a bit too far, but you get the point – 12 is a cool number in the Bible. To top it all off, there’s only one story in the whole Bible about Jesus between the age of birth and thirty - it’s the story of Jesus at 12 years of age. You can read all about it in Luke 2:41-52 – yep, that would be 12 verses.

So…why 12 minutes a day of devotion? No reason in particular, it’s just that 12 is a cool number and 12 minutes a day is a great starting place in giving God the “time” of your life.

So what are the Action Tags all about?

The J12 generation is all about living the 7 words that Jesus spoke when He was a 12 year old! Those words are: I MUST BE ABOUT MY FATHER’S BUSINESS. The devotional tags on each page of your GiveGod12 Journal are nothing more than points of focus to help you move through your devotional time with Jesus. Each one represents a different aspect of journaling your walk with God. Check them out!
