Gregg and Jessica Johnson founded the non-profit organization in 2002, declaring that J12 would reach a generation before they need to be rescued. They began traveling around the U.S presenting Jesus at 12 through events for the local church. As the movement spread, people everywhere were catching a passion to reach 8-12 year olds. They moved their base to Anaheim, California in 2005 where the very first J12 Local Church model was established at The Rock.

J12 at The Rock became a proven model for preteen ministry in a local church environment. Since then, J12 has established preteen local church ministries all over the globe. Every year the ministry of J12 produces new resources and tools for parents, teachers, and preteens. The staff of J12 continue to travel, producing events, sharing at conferences, and aiding churches in starting preteen ministries as they fulfill their mission of “Reaching a generation before they need to be rescued”.

TENETS OF FAITH

J12 is multi-denominational in its' scope in that we seek to see lives changed by the living Word of God, Christ Jesus. Individuals, families, and churches of all denominations effectively utilize our resources and vision. We are about helping everyone, everywhere, share in the confession Jesus declared at 12, "I must be about My Father's business." Below are the tenets of our faith.

At the age of 14 Gregg had already begun living a life of purpose, sensing the call of God to influence the youth of nations. It was then that his bedroom became a Bible College and his devotions became a delight.

Since then, Gregg has done his part to fulfill that call and God surely has done His, establishing Gregg as a gifted communicator both to young people and their families. His joy, intensity, and command of the Bible give him a unique ability to speak to and connect with any age. He has led mission trips, traveling to over 22 nations. He has served as a local youth pastor and in 1986 became the National Youth Director of the Foursquare Church (USA), bringing together the largest gatherings of youth in the denomination's history.

In 2002 Gregg founded J12 (Jesus at Twelve) with his wife, Jessica Johnson, a ministry dedicated to Reaching a Generation Before They Need to be Rescued, providing resources for the local church in their ministry to preteens. Gregg has recently launched a new initiative called GODWORDART, with a mission to infuse, inspire, and outfit the body of Christ to experience and spread the fun that can only be found in the faith.
