Just this last weekend I had the privilege of ministering at Santa Maria Foursquare Church. I was told by my lifelong friend, Tim Mossholder, the new pastor of the church that I would be meeting a 9 year old boy the next morning, who from the age of 3 told his mom he wanted to be a pastor, a doctor, and a baseball player someday.
Six years later he still wants to be a pastor, a doctor, and a baseball player. I gave young David one of our "Word on the Wall" posters. Pastor Tim told him that if he would memorize the scriptures around the border, he would get a bike! Those same words were spoken to me almost 50 years ago when my grandfather challenged me to memorize scripture. That challenge changed my life. I believe David's life will also be changed because of the challenge to hide God's Word in his heart.
